Fleas can make your pets life very miserable. They cause intense itching, and uncontrolled scratching.

Fleas can cause anaemia in puppies and kittens, as fleas are blood sucking insects, that live by consuming blood for their nutrition.

As well as anaemia fleas can cause flea allergy dermatitis- this is a skin condition caused by the biting fleas. It is the most common allergy in cats, and caused by flea salivia. It is extreamly itchy, and from this scratching is linked to developing secondary wound infections. If your cat is excessivly grooming or developing sores, make sure that their flea treatment is up to date, and contact our clinic so we can treat the skin problem, and stop the unbearable itch.

Fact: Did you know that only 5% of fleas on your pet are adult fleas, the other 95% are eggs lavae, and pupae.

Fact: One adult female flea can lay 50 eggs per day and can live on an untreated pet for up to 100 days, that’s 100 days of itching, and up to 5000 flea eggs that can be in your pets environment, from just one female flea.

Flea eggs, Larvae and pupae can be living in your carpets, on your lounges, in your cars, and backyards. In fact they can be living anywhere that your pet has been.
